Thank you for your interest in my chassis. I have enclosed some photos of two chassis styles that I am now building. Both chassis are available in either mid-engine or rear engine configuration. Either chassis can be fitted with water or air cooled engines. The engine can be mounted in either a longitudinal or transverse position depending on the transaxle used. They can be modified in length of wheelbase and track width to fit your body. I will work closely with you to build a chassis that will fit your body with the minimum of modifications to your body.
One chassis is a platform design that is a direct replacement for the VW pan. It uses Mustang II front suspension with tubular A-arms and coil-over shocks. The rear suspension on this chassis is from an '88 Fiero. The engine is a transverse mounted V6 with a 5 speed transaxle. An automatic transaxle can also be used. Other engines and transaxles can also be used with this chassis.
The other chassis is a space frame design built for the RIOT kit. This design can be used with some other bodies as well. It also uses the Mustang II front suspension. The rear suspension uses components from a Ford T-bird. This suspension can also be fitted to the platform style chassis. This chassis has a Mazda rotary engine with a Porsche 914 transaxle. Other engines and transaxles can be fitted to this chassis if desired.
Most bodies designed to fit on the VW pan will fit on my chassis although some modifications to the inner body panels may be necessary. The location of some components on the chassis can be changed to fit your body.
The price for the platform chassis is $2495. The RIOT chassis is $2895. This is a Stage 1 chassis that includes teh chassis and the suspension A-arms. I can also supply a chassis with whatever components of the suspensions you would like. Contact me for a prce quote on exactly what you would like to have.
Thank you
Eric Martin
UPDATE:
As part of my product improvement program I am looking at the rear suspension
from the '93-'97 Toyota Supra to use on my chassis. This suspension design is
similar to the '88 Fiero design except that the coil-over is mounted to one
of the lower control arms and the top of the knuckle is located by an a-arm.
This suspension will offer better adjustments than the Ford parts and doesn't
have the large rubber bushings that can deflect under cornering forces. This
suspension will be available on either the platform style chassis or the RIOT
space frame chassis.
I shall be offeringa fiberglass floor pan for use with my chassis that will have to be glassed into place on the RIOT body before it is mounted to the chassis.
If you have any questions about what engines can be used in my chassis or any of the other features on them please contact me and we can discuss them.
Jason,
I haven't had the opportunity to examine either of the Bradley models to
determine which chassis design would work best. I can redesign either one to
fit your body. The Subaru engine and Porsche transaxle will work fine. The
Supra axles can be easily adapted to the Porsche drive flanges. There are
several companies making large brake kits for the Mustang II and I have seen
ads for brake upgrades for the Supra although it already has good brakes. I
build each chassis to the customer's specifications, so let me know what you
are interested in.
Thank you
