I went racing at Saint Lawrence Motorsport Park (SLMP) August 4th & 5th. It was a great time. I didn't finish the car until the last minute. I had to buy a cordless drill to finish the car, and of course they don't come charged, so I charged it the night before I left. I left the house at about 3:30am and got to the track at about 7:30am. After I got to the track I mounted the battery tie-down kit and finished mounting the lap belt portion of the harness. I backed the car off the trailer and brought it to the pits for tech.

We set up the canopy and timing equipment while other people were starting to show up.

How did it go?
The first day was practice. We were just getting the cars tuned, learning the track and having tons of fun. We were timing the runs, but not for official scores. I was co-driving my car with my brother, and we each got to go out 3 times. You do a warm-up lap, a timed lap and then a half lap for cool down. My 4th time out the car wasn't running very well. The engine wasn't as stong as usual. Coming across the start line from my warm up lap the engine blew. It ended up being the connecting rod for the #4 cylinder came through the case right next to the oil cooler. No fire, but lots of smoke!
